About Mary John
Licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), she has worked across clinical, aviation, corporate, and academic sectors, including serving as Head of Psychology at Emirates Airlines and later at flydubai. Her experience as a private practitioner between corporate roles has given her a deep appreciation of diverse cultural perspectives on mental health. Over the years, she has seen therapy evolve from handwritten notes to online sessions — yet she reminds us that human emotions still don’t come with a user manual.
Holding an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Abnormal Psychology, Mary has also completed two years of doctoral research in Obsessive Compulsive Disorders at NIMHANS, India’s premier mental health institute. Her career is grounded in evidence-based care, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for human complexity.
Her expertise spans individual and family therapy, behaviour therapy, neurofeedback, psychometric assessments, and workplace mental health. Whether clients feel overwhelmed, curious, burnt out, or simply tired of battling their inner critic, Mary provides evidence-based support, practical tools, and the occasional well-timed laugh. She believes therapy should be insightful, human, and even a little enjoyable — not a lecture.
Mary has pioneered numerous wellbeing initiatives that bridge psychological science with organizational strategy. Guided by the belief that “the human mind is the same across borders,” she continues to explore how culture shapes mental health. She is passionate about destigmatizing mental health and frequently leads workshops, support groups, and awareness campaigns.
She works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and professionals — including those who insist they “don’t have time for stress.” Her areas of focus include anxiety, relationship conflicts, workplace stress, personality differences, and psychometric assessments.
Mary also specializes in aviation psychology, understanding that in aviation, staying calm under pressure is not just a personality trait — it’s part of the safety manual.
She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis, Grief Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Therapy, and Neurofeedback, offering a holistic and compassionate approach to mental wellbeing.
